About Our Director...

Helen joined Spring Valley as Director in February of 2010.  Helen is well-known as the tenor of Jukebox who placed first in Region 3's regional contest in May, 2009.  In addition, Helen has sung in many different quartets, has 6 Region 3 Quartet Gold Medals, served as associate director for Windy City West and Melodeers, and was a music director of the Valley Lights Chorus. She is excited about being part of the Sweet Adelines Director Certification program and its continuing education offerings.  Her list of accomplishments is awesome within Sweet Adelines, and she is currently a member of the Melodeers chorus.  Spring Valley is really proud to have her on board and we look forward to all of the expertise, knowledge and excitement she brings to the chorus.  Spring Valley is very fortunate to have her talent and leadership.

In Memory of Debbi Bustamante - Assistant Director

Debbi was truly the heart of Spring Valley Chorus and we were devastated when she was called to bring her barbershop talent to teach the angels (because we know she has them singing Tags). 

Debbi was the "A.D." since the summer of 2007.  She joined Sweet Adelines International in October, 2001, and had been a member of Spring Valley for 9½ years. Debbi served Spring Valley in many important capacities including: Singing Valentines Chair, Bass Section Leader, Interim Director, Membership Coordinator, Member of the VPT (Visual Presentation Team), Regional Contest Coordinator and Visual/Musical  Coach – quartet. She had recently joined the Directors Certification program offered by Sweet Adelines. Debbi filled her "spare" time as a home visit coordinator for a MinPin Rescue organization, a church choir organist, and an accomplished pianist.
